If you have seen any of our presentations you have heard the story of Mike being told by his publisher that he had written a book about “not retiring”. Despite using retirement in the title of the book, the reality is our language has not come up with word(s) that describe what is going on in the “retirement” world now. So here are some thoughts.
Well warm weather has finally arrived in southern Ontario so we can finally start to think about summer, longer days, warmer nights, trips to the cottage and campfires. One of the joys of Victory Lap Retirement (VLR) is that you now have the time and the ability to decide how you will spend your time. To that end we have decided to cut back on our blogs until September, instead we will enjoy the warm weather, focus on our families, travel, and continue to work on building our small business. It’s fun now because Jonathan and I finally get to enjoy the fruits of our labours. The book has been written, the Victory Lap Retirement (VLR) website and blog has come to life and we received our first book order yesterday. But there is much work to be done to accomplish our goal of building the VLR tribe and helping as many people as possible start their own version of a VLR lifestyle. Great things take time but the results are well worth it once you get there!
